Yes, mails get rejected
from hosts that are listed on a realtime blacklist we use (e.g. SORBS). Such
mails are tagged with error: Service unavailable; Client host
blocked using xyz
Problematic hosts are
still able to send you emails if they contact you through another address: make
use of a free mail forwarding address (e.g.
4warding.com) to redirect mails from such blacklisted hosts to your
MAILTIDE account. Don't forget to inform the "blacklisted" senders about the
new address.

Support if you need additional assistance
To use all the advanced features of
MAILTIDE, your browser has to support Javascript/DOM.
Following browsers are fully supported:
- MS Internet Explorer, version 5+
- Firefox, version 1+
- Mozilla, Netscape and other Gecko browsers
To create a new e-mail, click on the "Compose" icon.
Then fill in the receivers email address, subject and body of the message and click on the "Send" button.
You can format message text, insert images, buttons, tables, links and more when writing messages! IE users may also use the editors spellchecker. Goto "Preferences" | "Compose Options" to enable the advanced WYSIWYG editor.
After you are done you are either taken to your "Sent Items" folder or Inbox as you defined in "Preferences" - "Compose Options" (option "Folder to return to").
There are
several ways to delete messages:
In the message itself click on the "Delete" button.
- In the message list right-click over the message (this opens the context menu) and click on "Delete". Or select the message (checkbox on the right side) and click on "Delete Messages" in the "Actions to perform" dropdown menu below the message list.
- You may also select multiple messages, then right-click over any of them and finally click on "Delete" (context and dropdown menus work for both single and multiple messages).
New: Delete unreads: if you want to delete all unread messages in a folder right-click on the respective folder (left folder pane) and select "Delete unreads".
Deleted messages are moved to the "Trash Can" folder.
You may only undelete the messages which are in the "Trash Can" folder yet.
In the "Trash Can" message list right-click the message (this opens the context menu) and click on "Move". Then choose destination folder. Or select the message (checkbox on the right side) and click on "Move Messages" in the "Actions to perform" dropdown menu below the message list. Again choose destination folder.
Context and dropdown menus work for both single and multiple messages. Just select all messages you want to undelete.
To empty your Trash Can just open the "Trash Can" folder and click on the "Empty Trash" button. You can also right-click on the "Trash Can" folder link (this opens the context menu) and click on "Empty".
Once you empty your Trash Can, the messages are permanently deleted!
Note: emptying your Trash Can frees up valuable quota space.

- mark the messages as read or unread
- flag or unflag the messages

To change the number of e-mails displayed on your Inbox please follow the instructions given below:
1. Click on "Preferences" icon and then on "Folder View Options"
2. Select the number of e-mails you wish to be displayed in the "Messages per page" field.
You can use message rules (filters) in combination with custom folders to organize your e-mails and manage the flow of incoming e-mails.
You can have your e-mails sorted just like clothes in your drawer by moving them into folders. (e.g. you can set up a message rule, which will move any message from certain e-mail address to certain folder).
After you create a message rule and activate it, it is applied automatically to new messages in your Inbox.
Message rules are applied in their order of appearance: each rule is applied, beginning at the top of the list.
You can also apply a message rule manually to any folder.
Example:
If you want to delete all mails with subject 'viagra' except those from 'friend@domain.com', you can create following rules in this order of appearance:
(1)- "if subject contains 'viagra' -> delete it."
(2)- "if email address contains 'friend@domain.com' -> move it to Inbox."
If you flip the rule order, all mails with subject 'viagra' get deleted!
An alias is an extra address which forwards all mail to your main account.
Aliases provide multiple, easy-to-use, disposable email addresses that allow you to receive messages from automated systems
and unknown senders, while protecting your primary account from spam and other unwanted mail.
An alias does not have any storage of its own, and does not work independent from the main account, but it can be removed anytime if it receives unwanted mail.
For maximum spam control, we recommend that you direct your Aliases mail to a custom folder (see Message Rules).
This will allow you to easily identify and eliminate spam without affecting the rest of your email experience.
To create an alias please follow the instructions given below:
1. Click on "Preferences" icon and then on "Email Aliases".
2. Enter your desired alias-name in the empty field (without @mailtide.com). Your alias is added to the list.
3. Now click on "Update Aliases".
When on the Compose screen, you can choose between all different From addresses you've configured. Simply select the address in the "From" drop-down menu.
To change the default From address, goto "Preferences" ¦ "Compose Options" and choose the appropriate address in the "Default account to use" drop-down-menu.
To use the selected From address as the Reply-To address make sure to set the "Alias overrides Reply-To" option to yes. This ensures that the recipient
will reply (should he decide to reply :-)) to the address you sent the mail from and not to the "Default Reply-To address". Alternatively you can choose to have
a Reply-To field displayed when composing a new message ("Display Reply-To field when composing").
You can send and receive messages up to 4 megabytes (MB) in size. However, the precise amount allowable will depend on the subscription plan you've chosen.
Yes, as Large User, you can!
